Magnetic filter for heating
Magnetic filters for heating systems are designed to catch rust as well as ferromagnetic debris, sludge and dirt. They protect the system from damage and extend the working life, especially of circulating pumps and heat exchangers. Modern circulator pumps, whether they are located inside or outside boilers, are now more energy-efficient thanks to using permanent magnet motors. However, this design can cause the settlement of ferrous particles typical for heating systems which can cause pump or heat exchanger damage.
Magnetic filters consist of the following parts:
- Magnetic rod – this magnetic core consists of high intensity neodymium magnets. The magnetic rod perfectly attracts and separates even very fine ferrous contamination, which leads to an extended working life of the circulating pumps and heat exchangers of the heating system. Magnetic performance is between 7,000 - 9,000 G, according to filter type.
- Mesh strainer - mesh size of 800 µm. The mesh strainer can catch very small and also non-magnetic particles.
Magnetic filters for heating also differ in the pressure for which they are designed. We offer standard magnetic filters for operating pressures from 3 to 12 bar.
When selecting a magnetic filter, the size and type of heating system, water flow rate and other technical parameters must be taken into account.
