Automated plastic waste sorting line
The automated plastic waste sorting line is designed for a capacity of 1,500 kg/hour and is used to treat waste material kept in “yellow bins”, i.e. PET bottles, aluminum and iron cans.
At first, the ferromagnetic cans are sorted by means of an overband magnet suspended above the conveyor. To achieve maximum separation efficiency, we included into the sorting line a magnetic pulley fitted with very strong neodymium magnets. The combination of an overband magnet with a magnetic pulley integrated into the belt conveyor is ideal for achieving the highest magnetic separation efficiency. Thanks to this, the iron cans can be reliably removed.
The material then proceeds to the vibrating feeder that loosens and uniformly spreads the material on the belt conveyor before its processing by an ECS-C eddy current separator with a concentric rare earth rotor. This safely separates aluminum cans from PET bottles.
Finally, the PET bottles are sorted by a NIR spectrophotometer.
The individual types of the sorted materials are pressed.
- The separation line capacity: 1.5 t/h
- Guaranteed separation efficiency: 95 %.
Output
The treated waste is sorted into the following material fractions:
- 3D PET bottles
- Aluminum cans
- Iron cans
The sorting line consists of the following equipment:
- More than 130 m long conveying system (composed of straight, angular and inclined conveyors)
- DND-AC Ms4 F overband magnet
- MV 204 N 1280 magnetic pulley fitted with very strong neodymium magnets
- Vibrating feeder
- Non-ferrous metal separator - ECS-C 1500 RAM eddy current separator with a concentric rare earth rotor – for conveyor belts of 1,500 mm width
- NIR spectrophotometer
- Crushers
- Complex control system with PLC outputs directly on the sorting line
