Hump magnets MSK-MC

Magnetic cascade MSK-MC is designed for high-capacity transport systems (in particular for gravity-flow pipelines) where the application of other types of magnetic separators would be difficult or even impossible.

Design of the magnetic hump

The SOLLAU cascade magnetic separator is equipped with a set of large magnetic plates from which ferromagnetic impurities can easily be removed thanks to the system of extraction plates (after opening the door of the magnetic plate, the magnetic core will be pushed away from the protective stainless steel plate and the ferromagnetic particles accumulated on its surface fall off spontaneously).

How does a hump magnet work?

Since the magnetic plates are placed in the separator walls, allowing free flow of material (including less permeable materials that would block the magnetic grate separators), the cascade magnetic separator is capable of processing enormous quantities of material (up to 350 m3 per hour). The cascade form of this separator slows down the material flow and repeatedly guides it to the magnetic plates, what dramatically improves the efficiency of the separation process.

Further advantages of the magnetic hump MSK-MC

Another advantage of this separator is its simple inner configuration (typically, large smooth areas) allowing the application of various kinds of anti-abrasive protection (such as ceramic plates, flexible polyurethane or rubber coating, chemical nickel plating etc.), which significantly extend the practical applicability of the machine.

The MSK-MC separator is delivered including flanges to allow the connection to the customer’s existing piping system.

Our portfolio includes various versions of the magnet humps, with magnetic fields of various strengths, depending on the type of the applied magnets (ferrites, neodymium magnets or a combination of both). Ferrite magnets are able to remove larger contaminants (such as nuts, screws and washers), the strong neodymium magnets can finalize the cleaning process (as they are powerful enough to capture fine ferromagnetic particles in size from 60 µm).
